Comparison of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn were both characters created by Mark Twain. Tom Sawyer is the main character in the book The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn is the main character in the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer were alike in many ways but they were also very different. One way in which Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer are alike is that they are both very brave. One of the boys in the gang pointed out that Huck had no family so it wasn’t fair for him to be in the gang. Huck thought he was not going to be able to be in the gang but then â€Å"all at once I thought of a way, and so I offered them Miss Watson - they could kill herâ₠¬ . And he was allowed in the gang because the boys agreed that they could just kill Miss Watson if Huck told anyone. Another thing different between the two boys is Huck often gets confused or distracted. When Huck went to Judith Loftus’s house he dressed as a girl and first told her that his name was Sarah Williams. This is so because higher education can play a role in increasing the capacity to make better decisions regarding health and allows the individuals to access to best personal and social resources (Shankar et al., 2013). Two social determinants of health that influenced health outcomes for the children attending school from the video are social exclusion and early life. The process of social exclusion and the limit to which relative deprivation has an impact on the society are a major determinant of health. Harm to an individuals health is not only due to material deprivation but also due to psychological and social problems that arise in the social context. Poverty, homelessness and discrimination are major factors that lead to social exclusion. Rejection of people who are from certain cultural and ethnic backgrounds have a wide impact on how an individual is given access to basic amenities in life (Braveman Gottlieb, 2014). In the present context of the video, the children have not been subjected to social exclusion. On the contrary, a suitable environment for social inclusion has had an impact on the lives of the children through integration into the social context. They are being constantly invo lved in the decisions taken in the Burringurrah community. In addition, there is no form of racial discrimination or bias that can be harmful to children's development. The second social determinant is an early life that plays a crucial role in the lives of the children attending school. Emotional support along with motivation and encouragement are the key driving factors for development and attitudes towards life and health. Such form of care paves the way for physical and cognitive health and reduces the chances of poor emotional and cognitive functioning (Vive et al., 2013). Parents and teachers have the leading role in this regard in the video who deliver the much-needed care and support to the children of the community. Primary health care is responsible for promoting wellness and health and aids in preventing poor health outcomes and illness. Primary healthcare is more about the delivery of healthcare services and aims for creating the environment for helping people to stay healthy. The objective is to extend the reach of access to healthcare to those who need. Primary healthcare is guided by a number of principles. These are accessibility, public and community participation, health promotion, appropriate utilisation of technology and intersectoral collaboration. The two primary health care principles guided in the project are community and public participation and health promotion. Public participation refers to the involvement of the community and the resources available for promotion of health and well-being of the individuals in the community. Advocates of high level public involvement have the opinion that public services are the voluntery initiatives of the people and they play a major role a s they shape up the lives of the individuals of a community, preferably by a fully representative sample. These are beneficial for addressing the issues arising in the community in relation to health mostly at the grass root level (McMurray Clendon, 2015).. The principle of health promotion is based on the provision for helping the community to enable the socioeconomic conditions to be more strong (Drummond et al., 2015). In the video, it has been found that a positive approach to the better primary health of the school children is taken up by the community as a whole. Mark who is a teacher, Jack who is the land custodian, Rochelle, Gale and Robert who are parents, Charlie who is the community elder all have their own set of contributions towards the health promotion of the children. They make sure that the children have adequate access to the resources and proper allocation of funding takes place. Continued progress is the overall aim they have. Question: Describe about the Teaching Method for Business Professional Reason. Answer: I was barely seven years old, when my parents decided to relocate to Japan, for professional reason. As a child, growing up in an English family, I encountered great difficulty, on my way, trying to adjust with the Japanese culture, as well as the Japanese method of education, during my early school life. Although my parents thought it was just another school for me, that they sent me to, for me it was an unfolding of a whole new experience, that I could hardly relate to. The first obvious problem I encountered was the lack of awareness of the linguistic background of the Japanese people. I could not comprehend the Japanese language, and consequently the accent or the style of enunciation of the English words stood incomprehensible for me. Though my teacher would be speaking in English, every single utterance by her sounded so different for me. Further, her facial expression or her style of teaching, was completely different, from the teachers of New Zealand, and hence I failed to learn the simple tasks. Learning new things among the very new people, who spoke a different language, or wore quite a different apparel, was one of the most challenging things I faced, while studying in the school. Gradually, I started losing enthusiasm of learning in class, as I found my teacher not offering us the activity-based learning classes. While studying in New Zealand, our teacher used to explain each chapter by demonstrating the content on the very next day. Howe ver, here the teacher was mostly pre-occupied to find out how much we could memorize rather than how much we were learning from a chapter. Almost every day, she would take a written test, and would ask us questions. I studied hard, and tried to explain my perspectives, while my teacher was discussing a chapter. However, I was astonished to discover that my habit of adding my own perspective to a topic, was considered a form of interruption by my teacher. I was scolded more than once, for expressing my unwanted opinions. My teacher cited the example of my fellow classmates, who would keep mum, while she would explain the chapter. We were not supposed to talk, and the only time we were supposed to express ourselves, was the time we would be sitting for our examinations. I wanted to learn, explore, interact and develop, rather than just accepting what the content of my boring books explain. I started feeling alienated. My teacher labeled me as disobedient and talkative, even though I b arely communicated with anyone, except my teacher. I also hated how the teacher would expect absolute silence in class, whereby she would be the ultimate authoritarian figure in class. However, I would still wonder why my teachers were not interested in classroom interaction that was a source of fun and interest for me, in New Zealand. Another incident had largely de-motivated me, during my school days in Japan. Once my teacher was teaching an English lesson, and she explained the common interpretation of the chapter, that was discussed on the last page of the book. However, I was not satisfied with the interpretation of my teacher, and hence presented my perspective, without being asked to do so. This made my teacher reproach me in front of the entire class, call my guardian and complain about my arrogant, over-confident nature. It is evident from my personal experience, as discussed above, that each teacher is required to embrace the ethnicity, cultural or linguistic background of the students. A teacher who intends to deliver her lessons in class, may ignore the importance of looking after the well-being of each individual student (Aends, 2014). However, a teacher willing to educate the students must essentially develop an understanding of the cultural background of the students. Herein lays the importance of the concept of cultural responsive pedagogy that clearly states that racial or cultural difference does matter, and must be taken into account seriously (Hooks, 2014). A student often feels marginalized, neglected, deprived and even hopeless, when he fails to adopt or at least make himself understood to his teachers. It is highly important for any teacher to understand the cultural and ethnic background of the student and the students heritage and community, while teaching him. The Eastern method of e ducation is largely different from the Western mode of education, and hence the cultural differences of the students should be respected, rather than imposing new restrictions on the students. The teachers should adopt a culturally responsive method of teaching, which values, and respects the cultural difference of the students. It is important for the teacher to embrace, and adapt himself to the customs and traditions, style of speaking or facial expression and learning style of the student (Gay, 2013). Instead of alienating him, she should respect the difference, and utilize a more flexible method of teaching. As and when a student belonging to a different ethnic culture joins the class, it is the duty of the teacher to develop an awareness of his culture as well as the learning style followed in his former school, or the behavioral style of conduct followed in his home (Hammond et al., 2015). In case the teacher fails to adjust himself with the differences, she might end up de-mo tivating a child, ruining the academic growth in future(LeGates Stout, 2015). I have learnt from my personal experience, that a student should not feel alienated, after joining a school that prioritized and favors a particular culture. A child, who fails to get proper response from his teacher, owing to ethnic or cultural difference, may grow up shy, inward and timid. Each educational institution should accept, acknowledge and embrace the diversity existent among the learners, and should accordingly offer a flexible system of education. Each learner must feel that they do belong to the system. The function of a teacher is not limited to satisfy the academic needs of the students. Adaptation is to be done for an individual to be fitted to the community (Plomin, 1997). Man adjusts to his environment to survive life psychologically with all the considerations not because he is intellectually skilled to know what he needs to be in a certain atmosphere. Being in a new environment allows us to modify our actions in which people try to find ways on how to stay the same for a long time. This leads to what we call hobby. In the society we are moving in, injustice is concrete which can therefore be a reason for depression for those who are refused and isolated. Human behavior, which is alterable due to deals in the community, can lead to depression, anxiety, troubles in the family and crime. This change in personality is arduous to control. Thus, exposure to different people in the environment has unwanted effects on human behavior that can lead to self destruction, ruin our family and the whole society. These are due to gender inequality, personal control of influential and powerful eople over the frail ones and differentiation of cultures and beliefs. Gender affects the whole being of an individual. It is a great factor on the development of a person due to environmental expectations for being a male or a female. The community has certain standards for one to be accepted as one of them. Those who are in need are more likely to be neglected Just like beggars, and the rich people are more accepted. In a family, women are those who are usually controlled by parents when it comes to choosing for their future unlike men that usually choose their own. People also often base their standards to ones cleverness and skill as men being sturdier than women. A man and a woman bounded together also yield bad effects in ones life. These standards pilot to gender inequality. Women have been traditionally linked to chores and are usually strained to do things which they are not up to with like in college courses. Usually, parents depersonalize them because they are the one choosing what road they must tackle regardless of their desires as individuals. This causes the child to rebel especially when she does not want what she pushed through. The child, more often than not, chooses to leave their home and live independently for them to be given the chance to choose what they want to happen with their lives that may lead to family problems and personal problems as well. Men get more confident like in Job interviews more often than women for they know that every institution needs robust persons. Women, who have shallow personalities, on the other hand, losses hope. Men are also stereotyped as intelligent most especially in mathematics and logic fields more than women. This factor leads to womens extreme depression hat makes them force themselves to do more than what they can and what they are able to. Nevertheless, men have this formidable feeling of potency. It makes them experience the feeling of overconfidence. Also in politics, more men choose to be a political candidate and men are more often elected than women. Once an individual gets older, mutual feeling with someone will then follow and love cultivates. We all know that love is the most warming and tendering feeling of all, but it does not end there. Love can also lead to damaging effects during misunderstandings that can put people to come to blows, break-up or worse, murder. Women, who are labeled as very loving and considerate tend to be hurt more not Just mentally but physically. Men, having tough personality oftentimes are those who are numb. However, obsession is oftentimes carted by men over women they genuinely like. Those obsessed persons who are not adored back due to personality or physical presentation struggle to extreme feelings and confusion that may lead to murder. However, women are in to media. Women celebrities are more dominant than men. And women can put make ups to cover their concerns but men cannot. This may be a factor why gay population ncreases due to lack of their prerequisites to be considered a man. Directly speaking, being gay is considered a negative effect of lacking something in a mans personality due to parents way of rearing or because of exposure to different kinds of people and abuses that made them seek for something they thought would complete them. In this modern time, number of bisexuals increases unstoppably. And they are repeatedly discriminated by people showing them that there is no space for bisexuals in this wide community. People usually blame others and degrade them. Because of this, discriminated peoples learning is stunned. It will be very difficult for those people to learn. They will be maladaptive from learning over all experiences that can make them and the people surrounding them think that they are out of place because they act inappropriately. Gender inequality has many terrible effects on the whole being of one person. Because of this, the stronger individuals and those with more abilities tend to have power over the weak people. A person wounded by love can hurt not Just others but also himself. Discriminated people such as bisexuals try to persuade others that they must be accepted to the ommunity that is why they do their best in everything, not knowing that sometimes those acts are tactless. In school, in the office, most especially because of media, we, people will be apt to change perception about our own behavior. There are many unsecured pornographic sites that influences immature people to do things out of their ages. Another is someone in- touch with criminals, in a family or circle of friends. They can be influenced by those wrong-doers by thinking that having a life like a thief, killer, etc. is normal. For example, a child exposed to stealing, he/she may think that being a thief is an easy job wherein you can get all you want with Just a snap. All of these and many others show that the ecosystem has a great power to influence and indirectly control others. High-class communities have high standards as well. People in this kind of place degrade those that are financially or even physically disabled. Many people want to be fitted in this kind of community that is why many people want to be rich. Because f this aim, many push themselves to do things they are not up to Just to be one of those well-to-do people. Here, we can portray insecurity. Insecurity can cause a lot of disaster. Because of this, one can steal Just to have stuffs like what the community wants. One may also kill because of unmanaged feelings. And one may be insane because of too much thinking on what to do and because of lack of mind orderliness. These are Just some of those bad effects of insecurity. This differentiation brings up misunderstandings and a switch in a persons routine. People with wealth are more often praised than a person who, for example, sacrifice possessions for the good of all, die for everyone or someone who suffers martyrdom. Those wealthy, good-looking people who are always admired are often copied by those people who want to be accepted in the community like them. People tend to change their lifestyles to be able to be one of the admired persons like what the people around them wanted. Ethical technique happens when people in one community tend to have power over another to control other people. An individual can either be accepted or not in a group. Accepted people are those who are admired and those who influence others and be mimicked by people who wanted to receive the same esteem. Praised people are cared for and stayed what they are. However, there are people who are not accepted in a community. They are those who are neglected and punished for being who they are. Those people try to find ways on how to be accepted. The morality of Apostle Paul can be learnt from the various episodes of his missionary journeys. For instance, to accumulate the necessary finance required for his missionary journey, Paul employed himself during the day as a ‘tentmaker’, avoiding any assistance from his followers and devotees. In every city which Paul visited, he recognized a Jewish ‘synagogue’, which is the prayer house used for the Jews, to develop it as an early church.
